Drug Uses
It is prescribed to help males achieve stronger erection during sexual activity. Levitra works by dilating blood vessels in the penis and thereby causing more blood to rush into it leading to a stronger erection.
Usage
Levitra must be taken at least one hour prior to sexual activity with or without food. The drug should not be taken more than once a day.
Missed Dose
Take only when required (prior to sexual activity). Do not take a double dose ever.
Storage
Store it at room temperature.
Overdose
Some of the typical symptoms of an overdose include chest pain, back pain, dizziness and irregular heartbeat and abnormal vision. Seek medical attention immediately if you suspect an overdose.
More Information
Do not take Levitra if you are taking medications containing nitrates, alpha–blockers. Do not consume alcohol along with the drug. Do not drive or handle heavy machinery until you know how to react to the drug.
Warnings/Precautions
Do not use Levitra if:
you are allergic to any ingredient in Levitra;
you are taking or using nitroglycerin (eg, tablet, patch, ointment), nitrates (eg, isosorbide), or certain antiarrhythmics (eg, amiodarone, quinidine);
you have had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeat within the past 6 months;
you have certain eye problems (eg, retina diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa), uncontrolled chest pain, uncontrolled high blood pressure, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat (eg, congenital QT prolongation), severe heart failure, severe liver problems, or end-stage kidney disease that requires dialysis.
